Executive Team

Danial Faizullabhoy brings more than 20 years of experience in general management, venture capital, and strategic growth of companies. From June 2012 through March 2014, Danial worked as an independent consultant providing operational, financial, and strategic advice. From July 2006 through December 2012, he served as President and CEO of BroadLogic Network Technologies, Inc. (BroadLogic), a video-processing mixed signal semiconductor design and supply company. From July 1998 to July 2006, Danial held various positions at Walden International Investment Group, a venture capital firm, including Venture Consultant, Venture Partner, and Managing Director. From 1986 to 1998, Danial held various positions at Adaptec Inc., including Applications Engineer, Product/Marketing Manager, and Vice President and General Manager of its Target and Optical Peripheral Solutions Group. Education: B.S.E.E. from Norwich University and a M.B.A. from Santa Clara University. Board Memberships: Danial served on the board of directors of the following private companies: BroadLogic from 1999 to 2012; Matisse Networks, Inc. from May 2001 to April 2007; Sierra Atlantic, Inc. from July 1999 to April 2007; and Airtight Networks, Inc. from March 2004 to April 2007.

Steve Silva

Founder & CTO

Steve Silva brings more than 20 years of experience developing and delivering disruptive technology. Steve Founded Cypherpath in order to advance a new and innovative computing solution that provides software-defined cyber environments as isolated digitized solutions for Cyber Resiliency. Steve oversees the development of the technology and is responsible for the intellectual property. He also is working on the next round of technology that will allow Cypherpath to extend its product capabilities. From July 2009 to June 2013 Steve Founded Shadow Networks, Inc. to focus on the commercialization of advanced cyber security capabilities. From June 2004 to July 2009 Steve held the position of Research Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory where he led teams in the National Security Directorate performing research and development of next generation virtualization, networking, and cyber security technologies. Steve holds a BS in Computer Science from Washington State University. He holds US and International patents in the areas of virtualization, networking, and cyber security.

Tom Lerone has over 25 years financial management experience in high growth technology-based companies from the start up phase through initial public offerings. From 1999 to 2012 Tom was CFO of BroadLogic where he helped manage a successful merger with Broadcom. Tom joined BroadLogic following the sale of DigiCash Incorporated, a provider of secure payment systems for Internet-based commerce, where he was Chief Financial Officer. Prior to DigiCash, Tom served as Chief Financial Officer for NAVTEQ, the leading software and map database supplier for the vehicle navigation system market, where he implemented a series of private stock and debt placements aggregating over $225 million. Tom’s previous positions include the senior finance roles at computer manufacturers Elxsi and Trilogy Limited, where he was instrumental in securing $220 million in equity financings including an initial public offering, and a series of finance roles at Amdahl Corporation from their start up phase to the $400 million revenue level.

Philip Tilton

VP of Engineering

Philip Tilton has over 15 years of software development and leadership experience within enterprise, government, and academic organizations.  Philip is currently leading the development teams at Cypherpath with a focus on delivering the next generation of resiliency  capabilities.  From 2012 to 2014 Philip led a team at CRU Dataport developing leading edge technologies for forensic computer analysis.  Prior to that Philip led research and development in Cyber Security at Shadow Networks, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a focus on process-to-process and network communications.  From 2006 to 2010 Philip  served as an infantryman in the United States Marine Corps where he lead marines during OIF and various other operations.  Philip received a B.S in Computer Science from Texas A&M University in 2005, where he focused on multiple research projects including: Cyber Security, High Performance Computing, and Molecular Dynamics simulation.

Pan Kamal

VP of Marketing

Pan Kamal has over 15 years of experience leading marketing and operations for enterprise-oriented technology companies. Just prior to this Pan was VP of Product and Industry Marketing at HID Global, a $1.2B security provider where he led marketing for a a $100M+ multi-product cybersecurity software portfolio. Pan was also responsible for marketing communications, demand generation and digital marketing programs as well. Prior to HID, Pan was Vice President of Marketing at Kleiner Perkins funded security convergence software vendor AlertEnterprise where as an expert in critical infrastructure protection, he drove the creation of the IT-OT Security Convergence industry segment. In the past Pan has held marketing, product management and engineering roles at Avocent Corporation, Verano-Industrial Defender (acquired by Lockheed Martin), KLEER Industries, Wyse Technology (acquired by Dell), Digital Equipment Corporation, Honeywell and General Dynamics Network Systems. Pan has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University and participated in the Executive Business Program at Suffolk University, Boston. He earned a CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certification from ISACA.

Michael Lyons

Chairman

Mike Lyons currently serves as Executive Chairman of Cypherpath and incubated the technology along with Steve Silva. Mike also served as a Venture Partner with the Paladin Capital Group in Washington, D.C. He founded SafeView, Inc. in 2002, a PNNL spinout, to address aspects of the anti-terrorist physical security market; the Company closed more than $23M led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and he served as Chairman until its sale to L3 Communications in March, 2006. Concurrently, Mike is a Consulting Associate Professor at the Stanford University Department of Management Science and Engineering. Serving in the Stanford position since 1988, he was a co-developer of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program with Prof. Tom Byers and the founding professor of Technology Venture Formation. From 1980 to 1991, he was a co-founder, a Vice-President, of Integrated Systems Inc. (INTS, founded 1980), a leading implementer of high-performance real-time control systems for aircraft, automotive, and manufacturing applications. The Company was merged with WindRiver Systems in 1999. Mike received a Bachelors and Masters (equivalent) in Engineering Physics from Cornell University, an MSEE from Stanford, and an MBA, with Distinction, from the Pepperdine Presidential/Key Executive Program. He is a graduate of the Stanford/AEA Institute for the Management of High Technology Companies and a Price-Babson Fellow in Entrepreneurship Education.

Mark Egan

StrataFusion, VMWare

Mark Egan is a partner at StrataFusion Group, Inc. and has more than 25 years of information technology experience, with expertise in IT transformation, information security, and mergers & acquisitions. His extensive experience includes managing global IT organizations with over 1,200 employees, budgets in excess of $350 million, and IT integration for over 60 mergers and acquisitions. Mark has been repeatedly recognized for his leadership and success in scaling IT organizations to support rapid growth companies. Prior to joining StrataFusion, Mark was a CIO at VMware where he led the company from a server virtualization vendor with $2 billion in revenue to a $5 billion market leader of cloud solutions. During his 6 years as CIO at Symantec, Mark’s leadership in IT was instrumental in supporting the company’s transformation from $600 million consumer software publisher to a $5 billion market leader of enterprise security solutions. He held senior level positions with companies in a variety of industries, including Sun Microsystems, Price Waterhouse, and Wells Fargo Bank. Mark is author of Executive Guide to Information Security: Threats, Challenges, and Solutions and was a contributing author of CIO Wisdom, CIO Perspectives, and CIO’s Body of Knowledge. He is the founder of the CIO Development Program that mentors aspiring CIO’s and president of the CISE Education Fund that raises money for underprivileged students to pursue technology degrees. Mark holds a master’s degree in finance and international business from the University of San Diego and a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences from the University of Clarion. Mark developed and taught a graduate class, “Building Business Value through IT Innovation”, at the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.

Kevin Rogers

Co-Founder

Kevin Rogers brings more than 20 years of leadership experience building award-winning companies and highly recognized solutions for Commercial and Defense sectors. Previously, Kevin was VP Public Sector Sales at Global Knowledge, Inc. (NASDAQ:GOGK) where he delivered 7 and 8 figure deals. Before joining Global Knowledge Kevin was Founder and VP Sales at Knowlogy bringing the company from $600,000 in sales to over $12 million. Under Kevin’s leadership the company became very profitable with a yearly EBITDA of 34%. He was responsible for driving the vision of the company and the growth of the product lines, sales, marketing and channels. Prior to Knowlogy he was a Federal Account Manager at RGB Technology where he lead sales for command and control center solutions.
